Style of practice
Counseling begins with assessing your individual needs and may include behavioral therapy to help you stop negative patterns in your thinking. We might work on skill building related to communication, stress, anger or other issues. In between sessions we might decide that you need to conduct some experiments on changing specific behavior to see if it produces a helpful outcome. I also might suggest books to read, journaling or other tools that will enable you to continue working outside of your session.
